Frequesntly Asked Questions
What is graphic design?
Graphic design is a creative process that takes into consideration current
industry trends, research of your competitors along with your business
objectives. We then use this information to combine text and graphics into a
marketing piece that communicates an effective message to your target audience.
The end result can be in the form of a successfully designed catalog, website,
logo, corporate identity, brochure, newsletter, eBook or postcard.
What does the Logo Design process involve?
After receipt of your brief we will provide you with two or three logo samples
within seven working days. Logo design options will be sent via email for your
approval.
We expect minor tweaks and adjustments at no charge, however,
continued and additional revisions will be billable at our standard design rate.
We will always inform you when you are about to exceed the original quote.
How long will it take?
It really depends on the scope of the project, but typically a design will take 5-10
days. One thing to keep in mind; it’s best not to wait until the last minute to
avoid the possibility of rush charges. We do make every effort to adjust our
schedule to accommodate your needs…but there are limits.
How can I proof what you have done for me?
We will send you an email with a low resolution PDF or JPGEG attached for
your approval.
What is the difference between a “redesign” and a “revision”?
Revisions are changes made to the project with regards to color, size, font or
building upon the design at hand. A redesign means designing a new concept
based on the feedback you provide us.
How many revisions will I receive? What if I need more revisions?
You will receive three rounds of revisions to your project within the quoted
price. If you require additional revisions, they will be billed at an hourly rate.
Can I use my own printing company?
Yes, but a few words of caution. We do prefer to supervise your project with
printers we’ve had relationships with for years. We base our file preparation on a
strict set of specifications dictated by each printer. This ensures the best results
and can sometimes help in avoiding additional fees associated with your job. If
you decide to go with your own printing company, we will provide the files
ready to be given to the printer by email, FTP or on a CD. Or, if you like, we can
arrange to have the files delivered directly to your printer.
What file formats will you provide me with?
You shall have the option of receiving your images via email attachment, disk
and/or hard copy.Transfer of full copyright will occur after receipt and clearance
of final payment.
We create files using high-end graphics software. You cannot open or use
these files unless you have the proper software applications that created the
graphics and the expertise to use them. We convert these files to various other
formats for you to view them.
PDF – Files saved in this format can vary in quality depending on the need and
can generally be opened on amy computer.
TIFF – This is the BEST format for images and will be used for printing and
placing inside other documents.
JPEG – This is the best format for images that will be used on web pages or
sending via email.
EPS – This format is generally used for vector graphics that will be used for
printing.
GIF – This format is for vector graphics that will be used on web pages or sent
via email.
We will provide all files and formats at the proper size and resolution for their
intended purpose.
Why does the color look differently on my monitor and printer than it does
on yours?
Images that are viewed on a computer monitor will never have the exact same
colors as what will come out of your printer. The reason for this is not only that
every monitor is different, but color created digitally (on your monitor) looks
different from color created from ink (your printer). Further, your camera,
scanner, monitor and printer will communicate in different color languages and
use different ink formulas. Nome of them map the same actual color to the same
values. This is why designers frequently remind clients that color matching of
the materials they are viewing may be imprecise. Another way to explain this is
while processing a digital image, the most convenient color model used is the
RGB model. Printing the image requires transforming the image from the
original RGB color gamut to the printer's CMYK color space.  All this is to say,
colors may not match exactly.
What is Website design?
Website designs are professional quality designs that include complex features
such as intricate page layouts, custom interactive buttons, unique fonts and color
schemes. Website design can also include interactive design elements, allowing
the website visitor a more full and interesting experience.
Who supplies the text on the website?
You, the customer, provides all the text to be used on the website. However, The
Third Entity, Inc. also provides website text creation services to help with this
daunting task. Professional website text creation is very important as it has a
direct relationship with how your website is catalogued rated by the search
engines. It makes no sense to have a dynamic website that nobody can find, so
optimization is critical.
Who supplies the photos on the website?
You provide all the photos, however, we can provide professional photos at an
extra cost.
How long does take to complete a website?
This really depends on the scope of your website. If you would like a basic four
or five page website that outlines your business and you have all the content
(text and photos), the website can be completed in 2-3 weeks.
If your website is larger with “bells & whistles” or special features, or if
you need us to help generate text and/or graphics, it will take longer.
Where do I host my site?
Web hosting is your presence on the Internet. It is where your unique domain
name is located and where you store your web files and content allowing your
customers access to your site 24/7.

service provider and can offer you affordable, professional and extremely
flexible web hosting services and solutions.

Absolutely! We have an affordable hourly rate and can work in several
programming languages. It doesn’t matter if you need your site rebuilt, a facelift,
updated content or an entire new site. Whatever it is, we can solve your
problems.
Can I update my own website?
The Third Entity, Inc. and ProArt Design pride ourselves on state of the art,
custom management systems which allows you the freedom and flexibility to
update your own website on your own schedule.
Do you transfer files to my website or do I?
Files can be transferred to your website by our staff or by yourself, using your
custom content management system.
How can I proof what you have designed for me?
A private directory will be created on our web server for you to view and
approve. We will notify you by email each time that we post a revision or update
to your project. You and your team can access this directory 24 hours a day.
